I know it's been a while since I wrote a review... but wow you need to watch this MOVIE!
For those who follow the DC universe, we all know the story of Harley Quinn, the rebellious, unwanted child, that grows up to work at Gotham City's Arkham Asylum and falls madly in love with the Joker, and there begins her life of Crime. But what happens when Harley Quinn and the Joker break up?
Now we all know break ups are hard, but no one does it better than our Harley Quinn played beautifully by Australian Actor Margot Robbie. With an unbeatable wit, smarts, fearlessness and a few fellow underestimated and under appreciated women by her side, Harley (originally unintentionally) becomes one of the few 'hurdles', standing in the way of super villain 'Black Mask' getting his prized diamond back, giving him absolute control over Gotham.
Usually, I do horror. It's only been recently that I have started expanding my net. Thus far, I have watched Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn twice, and honestly I am now a fan. This movie is well written, full of wit and action without the boring overdone backstories that make you lose the current story being told. The way in which the backstories have been told (by Harley Quinn) are witty, original and what you'd come to expect from her personality. Honestly, I couldn't turn away. I found myself entertained and laughing throughout. Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn also had way less swearing than I first anticipated for a MA15+ movie.
If you are looking for something, fast paced, witty, with great acting and action then Birds of Prey and the Fantaboulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn is for you! Thanks for reading.
